The Greatest Gift.

What is the greatest gift someone could give you?

The greatest gift I’ve learned to embrace is the ability to filter out harmful opinions from others—opinions that can impact my health, growth, and peace of mind. My journey through months of hospital stays was not just about medical treatment; it was a profound experience of spiritual healing. Through prayer, unwavering faith, devotion, and chanting, I found my way back to strength.

I’ve realized that taking every opinion at face value hinders personal growth. Instead, I’ve learned to filter advice carefully, test its usefulness, and apply it thoughtfully to my life. This practice allows me to align with what resonates deeply within me. When I sense good energy and positive vibrations, I follow that flow without hesitation, trusting my instincts.

This unwavering faith has been a cornerstone in my journey to regaining stability. But it hasn’t been without challenges, especially when reflecting on my family dynamics. My father, now 85, seems weighed down by the guilt of past decisions that disrupted our family. His choices, such as bringing negative objects into our home—including a “black netted ball,” tanjore idols, a precious oval stone, and certain books—cast a shadow over our lives, leaving a lasting impact.

A Personal Battle

Walking into that house as a child marked the beginning of an inner battle. Over time, I realized the necessity of staying alert, attentive, and self-aware. Severing ties with toxic influences, including those within my family, was a painful but necessary step. It allowed me to focus on my healing and growth.

Transformation has been an ongoing process, one I’ve supported by immersing myself in positive resources. Audiobooks by Bob Proctor and inspirational videos by Sadhguru have provided me with the guidance and tools to rebuild my inner world.

The Power of Growth

The most profound gift I’ve received along this journey is not material—it’s the wisdom of self-reflection and growth. This includes recognizing the importance of faith, resilience, and the courage to chart my own path. By removing negativity from my life and focusing on practices that nurture my spirit, I’ve begun to transform my story into one of empowerment and purpose.

The greatest gift, truly, is learning to trust yourself—to filter out the noise of others’ harmful opinions and embrace what truly resonates with your heart. It’s a lesson in staying true to oneself, no matter the circumstances, and in finding strength in faith and unwavering belief.

This is not just a story—it’s a journey, and one I’m proud to continue writing, one step at a time.
