What are your daily habits?

Five years ago, my daily habit was simple but harsh on my system—I’d get ready and rush out the door without breakfast. Once I reached the cafeteria, I’d drown myself in four 16-ounce cups of coffee, just to fuel the energy needed for walking around throughout the day. That routine lasted for years.

But things have changed now. My new habits feel like an upgraded version of my old self. These days, I either have a single cup of coffee or skip it altogether. I start my day with a glass of cold water, which surprisingly keeps me going for up to five hours. I follow it with kriyas and sadhanas as guided by the app, setting the tone for an energised and purposeful day.

Pre-planning my day ahead has become essential. It helps me stay in the flow of work, although I’ve also come to accept that not every plan unfolds perfectly. On those off days, I remind myself to let go of my attachments—to my wants, my don’t-wants, or even to the idea of control. I see this process as a wave offered by the Isha Center, a chance to correct and refine my mental, physical, and emotional states.

Gradually, I’m learning to detach from the identity of “me,” “my,” or “I.” The journey now is about discovering what it truly means to be a human being. And that, I know, starts now.
