When you were five, what did you want to be when you grew up?

“You have a right to perform your duty, but not to the fruits of your actions.” from Bhagavad Gita

As a child, I was carefree without knowing it.The days moved slowly. I watched television, walked beside my mother, and let time pass without resistance. My father went to work, and I never questioned it.

Life was simple, and I lived inside it without thinking. Now, as an adult, carefree is different. It is not given. It is chosen.Work fills the day. Responsibilities replace quiet afternoons.

The mind speaks more than it listens. Yet somewhere in between the noise, I try to walk the same way again—without carrying everything so heavily. To work, but not be consumed by work.

To move, but not feel chased by time.To live, but not hold too tightly.

Carefree is no longer a state I was born into.It is a state I return to.

“When a man gives up all desires of the mind and is satisfied in the Self alone, he is said to be steady in wisdom.” from Bhagavad Gita
