What’s a word or phrase that annoys you?

“The mind acts like an enemy for those who do not control it.”— Bhagavad Gita

A man once heard the words “never mind” so many times that the phrase became heavier than stone inside his chest.Whenever he tried, someone would push him harder.

Whenever he struggled, someone would say, “Cold storage treatment”

And after all the pressure, after all the noise, came the final words:

“Never mind.”

To others, it was a small sentence. To him, it sounded like the burial of effort itself.

He began to wonder why people disturb the mind in the first place if they already know another person has reached the edge. Why provoke fear, comparison, shame, and anger, then pretend it means nothing afterward?

The phrase kept replaying in his head like broken music.Slowly he saw something dangerous: the real enemy was not the people anymore, but the mind repeating them endlessly.Old scenes returned without invitation.Faces from years ago appeared like ghosts.Arguments replayed.Failures replayed.Embarrassment replayed.

The people from the past were already gone, yet the mind rebuilt them daily from memory and imagination.

The man realized that hatred survives because memory keeps feeding it.He watched many people grow old carrying these invisible theaters inside themselves — fear, regret, anger, unfinished conversations.

The mind became crowded with noise until even peace felt unfamiliar. One day, sitting alone in silence, he finally understood:

Not every thought deserves worship.

Not every memory deserves a home.

The past had become garbage stored inside sacred space. So he stopped chasing every image entering the mind.He stopped arguing with every shadow. He let thoughts come and leave like passing rain. For the first time, the noise weakened.

And in that silence, he understood the teaching he had ignored for years:

For one who has conquered the mind, the mind is the best of friends. But for one who has failed to do so, the mind will remain the greatest enemy.”— Bhagavad Gita
