the seeker and the 5000 steps

Hit 5,000 steps today and drop your achievement here — we’re cheering you on!

“Yoga is the journey of the self, through the self, to the Self.” — Bhagavad Gita

One morning, the Seeker saw a message:”Hit 5,000 steps today and drop your achievement here—we’re cheering you on!”

The Seeker frowned.”Master, is walking 5,000 steps really such a great achievement?

It seems so ordinary.

“The Sage smiled.”Once, you believed transformation had to arrive with thunder. Yet a mountain is worn down by countless drops of rain.”

The Seeker looked down.

“I used to chase excitement. I ignored small victories. I thought only great accomplishments mattered.”

The Sage pointed to a tiny sprout pushing through a crack in a stone path.”

Does the seed become a tree in one leap? Every step strengthens the body. Every conscious choice steadies the mind. Every small victory weakens old habits.”The Seeker remembered.Once, one cup of coffee was impossible. Once, calm while driving seemed distant. Once, anxious fingers searched for nails to bite without thought. None of those changes happened overnight.

They came one quiet step at a time. The Sage continued,”The world celebrates the finish line. Wisdom celebrates the next step.”

The Seeker smiled, put away the phone, and began to walk—not to impress others, but to honour the journey within. That evening, the Seeker quietly shared:”Today, I reached 5,000 steps.”

The Sage nodded.”You did not merely count your steps. You counted your willingness to continue.”And that was the greater achievement.

One who is disciplined in action, steady in mind, and unattached to the result walks the path of true freedom.” — Bhagavad Gita
