What’s a piece of technology you’re convinced will exist in 20 years?

One must elevate oneself by one’s own mind, not degrade oneself. The mind can be the greatest friend and the greatest enemy.” — Bhagavad Gita 6:5

The seeker asked, “Master, what is one piece of technology you are convinced will exist in twenty years?”

The sage smiled.”I do not wonder as much about the technology that humanity will build. I wonder whether humanity will build itself.”

The seeker looked puzzled.

“But robots will become more intelligent. They may cook, clean, drive, care for the elderly, plant crops, and even make discoveries. They will continue to improve as science advances.”

“Perhaps,” said the sage.

“But tell me, if a restless mind creates an intelligent machine, will the machine remove the restlessness?”

The seeker fell silent.

The sage continued, “Humanity dreams of building robots that can perform in seconds what now takes hours. Yet the greatest technology already exists within you—a conscious human being.

The tragedy is that people spend their lives upgrading machines while neglecting the one instrument through which they experience life.”

The seeker reflected on the Isha practices.”Master, since I began my practices and chanting the Hanuman Chalisa, I notice my mind has become clearer. A task that once took me four hours now takes ten minutes. Nothing outside changed, yet everything feels different.”

The sage nodded.”That is the revolution. The outer world changed because the inner world became organized.”

The seeker asked, “Then why do people continue destroying forests, rivers, and animals?”

“Because,” replied the sage, “a forest is first destroyed in the human mind. Greed cuts down the first tree. Envy poisons the first river. Comparison hunts the first animal. Selfishness burns the first field. Long before destruction appears outside, it has already taken root within.”

The seeker listened deeply.”So restoring the Earth begins with restoring ourselves?”

“Yes,” said the sage.

“If every human being became conscious, technology would serve life instead of exploiting it. Forests would be protected. Animals would have space to live. Wealth would become a tool for responsibility rather than domination.”

The seeker smiled.”So the future is not waiting for a billionaire to invent the perfect robot.

“The sage laughed softly.”No.

The future is waiting for ordinary people to become extraordinary in their awareness. When the human mind is transformed, every invention becomes a blessing.

Without that transformation, even the greatest technology cannot save the world.”

The seeker bowed.

For the first time, the seeker understood that the greatest invention of the next twenty years would not be made in a laboratory.

It would be made in the silent space within every human being who chose awareness over greed, responsibility over exploitation, and consciousness over unconscious living.

For one who has conquered the mind, the mind is the best of friends; but for one who has failed to do so, the mind remains the greatest enemy.” — Bhagavad Gita 6:6
